More information about the Autodrome for the 2017 Air Tattoo will be made available when we have it.
After much praise and appreciation at the 2015 show, the Autodrome was welcomed back in 2016 with an array of automobile eye candy. Where Top Gear meets Top Gun and petrol heads with a penchant for two and four wheels get a real treat.
There was more on offer than just supercars and classics though, once again the 'Get On' team let youngsters over 12 taste the motorcycle experience with fully trained instructors showing people the ropes in a safe and secure off-road area.
Here are some of the exhibits that visitors got to see at the 2016 Autodrome:
- Ferrari Owners Club
- Porsche Club of Great Britain including the Fastest Nürburgring Porsche
- MG Car Club
- VW Corrado Club of Great Britain
- The Riley Motor Club
- Fairford Classic Car Club
- Get On - have a go on a motorcycle or scooter
- National Bike Safety Exhibition
- RAF Mountain Rescue Team
In the Autodrome during the 2016 show we were privileged to be hosting the car that still holds the world record for the fastest time around the Nürburgring race track in Germany. In 1983 the car sped around the 20 kilometre track in just six minutes and eleven seconds, a record yet to be beaten! The car achieved an average speed of 126 mph around the track's 75 corners; and visitors could view it in the Autodrome area, located in the Red Zone.
