Motorcycles
As all vehicle parking is on green field sites there is no hard standing for motorcycles. If you do require hard standing it might be advisable to bring a plank of wood or equivalent to facilitate parking. Helmets and outer clothing can be left in the Drop Zone in the centre of the showground.
Bicycles
Bicycles are not permitted onto the showground but can be secured to the outside of the security fence.
Visitors arriving at RAF Fairford will park in fields adjacent to the airfield perimeter and will enter the Showground through a series of perimeter fence booths manned by admissions staff who will check tickets and operate on-the-day sales. This system is designed to reduce traffic delays on the approach roads. RIAT parking is FREE when all adults purchase a RIAT admission ticket. Arrangements for Disabled Visitors
Disabled visitors arriving by car and displaying a disabled badge will be directed to the front of each public car park. This is where a designated car parking space will be available – but it could be up to 300 metres from each pedestrian entry point. A team of helpers will assist wherever possible. It must be stressed that the public car parks are located on rough terrain which is unsuitable for wheelchairs.
It is strongly recommended that disabled visitors use our special Park & Ride facility at South Marston Business Park. A shuttle bus will run from the Park & Ride and will drop disabled visitors and their carers near to the Invacare Mobility Bureau Disabled Enclosure on the airfield. Disabled people wishing to use the Park & Ride or any of the other disabled facilities should contact Jacky Robertson on +44 (0) 1285 713300 Ext.5380 or email disabled@rafcte.com
