Trust Benefits From RAF Cosford Air Show

Published: 03 May 2016

Following a successful 2015 RAF Cosford Air Show, Station Commander Group Captain Mark Hunt presented the RAF Charitable Trust (RAFCT) with a cheque for £50,000 at the official launch of the 2016 event.

The RAFCT is one of four RAF charities to benefit from the airshow held at the Shropshire base, with profits split between the Trust, the Royal Air Forces Association, RAF Benevolent Fund and the RAF Museum as well as a number of local good causes.

"The Charitable Trust and RAF Cosford Air Show have a long and supportive relationship", said RAFCT Director, Amanda Butcher. "We are always happy to be involved in such a fantastic event.

"We are really pleased to receive this donation and know the money will be used to promote and support RAF servicemen and women around the country, including those at RAF Cosford."

The 2016 RAF Cosford Air Show will mark the 75th anniversary of the inaugural flight of Britain's first jet engine aircraft, with a celebration of speed, showcasing the evolution of the jet engine.

Each year RAF Charitable Trust Enterprises lends its airshow experience to the team at RAF Cosford, providing back-up and support throughout the event.
