The 65th anniversary of the first flight of the Jet Provost
- originally a Hunting product, later part of the British Aircraft Corporation
stable - is marked in 2019. The Jet Provost T.3 was the first volume production
variant, deliveries to the RAF commencing in 1958, and allowed for the
achievement of a notable milestone when, in 1960, there was completed the
service's first 'all-jet' training course. Since the type's early-1990s
retirement from RAF service, many Jet Provost T3s have ended up in civilian
hands, and one will be on display in the RIAT 2019 static park.
