EF2000 - NATO

Germany operates the second largest number of Eurofighters after the UK. It still refers to the type simply as the Eurofighter, or EF2000, rather than the Typhoon. Four of the air arm's Taktischen Luftwaffengeschwader (Tactical Air Wings) fly the aircraft in Luftwaffe service, with TLG 31 from Norvenich, TLG 71 from Wittmund and TLG 73 from Laage all sending an aircraft to RIAT 2019. Germany initially utilised the Eurofighter solely in the air-to-air role but is now developing its employment of the aircraft's multi-role capabilities.
