This Ikarus C42 joining us on static display has recently been part of the RAF's efforts towards a more sustainable future and has been test flown using purely synthetic fuel. German company Comco Ikarus are responsible for the C42 family of high-winged, two-seat ultralights, which have achieved much success in their category both as trainers and among private owners. This aircraft is constructed of sturdy aluminium tubing with a composite cabin and fuselage shell, and can be fitted with either the 80hp or 100hp versions of the Rotax 912 powerplant.
