Grob Viking T1 - UK

This is the aircraft in which Air Cadets get airborne for the first time. The Viking T1 glider is the RAF variant of the Grob G103A Twin II Acro, one of the German manufacturer's long range of sailplanes. Ten of the RAF's Volunteer Gliding Schools operate the type, as well as the Central Gliding School. A high-performance sailplane with a basic aerobatic capability, it can be winch-launched or aero-towed. The aircraft is fitted with a non-retractable tandem undercarriage and upper-surface airbrakes. It has tandem seating for two and is constructed using glass-reinforced plastic for light weight and strength.
