MEDIA ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS
Thank you for your interest in applying for accreditation for the Royal International Air Tattoo, 19-21 July 2019. Detailed below are guidelines to assist you with your application.
Please make sure you review these guidelines carefully before completing your application as we have made some recent changes to our accreditation process.

PRINT AND NEWSWIRE REPORTERS

  • Proof of employment: Email from your editor, from the company email address, stating that you will be covering the Royal International Air Tattoo for the publication/outlet.
  • A Press card alone will not be accepted as press credentials.
  • The following will not qualify for RIAT media accreditation:
  • Copy/content editors.
  • Owners, publishers and non-editorial executives.
  • In-house publications or newsletters.

DIGITAL MEDIA

  • Proof of work: A link to a current page of your online publication or blog with your name and title appearing in an editorial capacity.
  • Proof of employment: By-lined articles relating to the aerospace industry (published within the last three months) or an email from your editor, from the company email address, stating that you will be covering the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) for the publication/outlet.
  • Please note:
  • Websites must post original, dated, industry-related news. The website content must extend beyond links, forums, personal diaries, opinion or personal analysis.
  • A Press card alone will not be accepted as press credentials.
  • The following will not qualify for RIAT media accreditation:
  • Personal website writers, fan sites, designers, editors and creators.
  • YouTube, Facebook or Twitter pages/accounts, personal blogs, communities, forums and user groups.

BROADCAST JOURNALISTS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS
Broadcast crews must provide:

  • A Press card alone will not be accepted as press credentials.

  • Proof of regular and ongoing freelance journalism activity (published within the last three months).
  • A Press card alone will not be accepted as press credentials.

ACCREDITATION APPROVAL
Accreditation is reserved for working members of the media only. This includes editors, reporters, producers, camera crews, radio broadcasters and still photographers. The Royal International Air Tattoo reserves the right to deny an applicant a media pass if sufficient credentials are not provided. A history of being registered at previous Air Tattoos does not guarantee approval or waive the accreditation requirement. Misconduct or misrepresentation of your position, outlet/publication or staff could prevent you and your entire organisation from attending future Air Tattoos.

The following will not qualify for media accreditation:

  • Publishers, general managers, account representatives, sales executives, marketing executives, engineers, public relations representatives, financial analysts etc.
  • Price comparison sites, personal website writers, fan sites, designers, editors and creators.
  • Editorial or business representatives associated with industry trade groups or associations.
  • Anyone whose principal purpose for attending RIAT is, in our judgment, for reasons other than covering the event as working news media.
All accredited media must abide by any term of entry to the Royal International Air Tattoo and wear their media pass provided by the organiser and ensure it is visible at all times.
Any photography must not be used for commercial gain outside the photographer's commission (i.e. for editorial purposes only).
Up to two representatives per media outlet can apply for accreditation for one of three public days (19-21 July 2019). Accreditation is not transferable. The decision of the organiser is final.
Please email the media registration team with any questions at riatmedia@rafcte.com
