RIAT wins European Airshow Council award
RIAT wins European Airshow Council award
3rd Mar 2023
Chief Executive Officer Paul Atherton paid tribute to RAFCTE staff and volunteers after the Royal International Air Tattoo was recognised at this year's European Airshow Council convention in Belgium.
The convention, which takes place annually, was staged from February 23rd-25th where airshow organisers and participants from across Europe, Canada and the United States gathered for presentations, detailed discussions and their award ceremony.
Claiming the Chairman's Award in Brussels earlier this week, RIAT has been highlighted for its history, STEM work and 'commitment to continuous development in the airshow world'.
The award was accepted by Operations Director Paul Sayer and Head of Air Operations, Peter Reoch in the Belgium capital, where figureheads from across the aviation industry were in attendance.
Reflecting on the award, Paul said: "We are really honoured to have been given this award in front of so many peers.
"Every year we strive to create an awe-inspiring show like no other, and without our incredible staff and team of volunteers, we simply wouldn't be able to do so.
"I'd like to dedicate this award to them as a thank you for their enduring dedication and commitment to the Royal International Air Tattoo."
