Why become a Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) Volunteer?
There are many reasons why someone might decide to become a volunteer at RIAT.
Not only is it fun and hugely rewarding, but it also offers opportunities to make new friends, learn new skills and apply existing ones, whilst supporting a great cause, the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust (RAFCT).
AT RIAT, there's no such thing as a stereotypical volunteer. As one of the leading, international aviation events, our 1250+ volunteers are as diverse as the many aircraft that join us from around the world each year. Whoever you are and whatever your background, we believe we have a rewarding volunteer role to suit you.

Volunteering at RIAT is about being part of an amazing community, creating unforgettable memories and experiencing the excitement of one of the world's greatest airshows up close.
To Volunteer at RIAT, you must
- Be 18 years or older
- Be travelling from within the UK
- Be available for all public show days (17th, 18th and 19th July)
Please note: We cannot accept applications with less that three days' availability
What Happens after you Apply?
Once you submit your application, our Volunteer Engagement team will review it and where possible, match you to a potential role. A Team Manager will then contact you to arrange an interview. This is your chance to learn more about the role and ask any questions you may have.
Important Information
We receive a high volume of applications and cannot guarantee a role will be available. Some positions require specialist skills, qualifications or certifications. If you do not have relevant experience with aircraft, it's unlikely you'll be placed in a team that works directly with them.
