CC-177 Globemaster - Canada

The Royal Canadian Air Force has five examples of the CC-177 - its designation for the Boeing C-17A - in service with 429 Transport Squadron, part of the RCAF's 8 Wing at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Ontario. The four-engined jet can be used as both a tactical and strategic airlifter of troops and cargo, thanks to its excellent short take-off and landing capabilities and substantial payload. In Canadian use, the type has supported humanitarian relief efforts in several countries and provided an 'air bridge' for the country's forces that were engaged in Afghanistan. Domestically, the Globemaster IIIs deliver military personnel and equipment to sites in Canada's remote far north.
