Grob Tutor Kev Storer

Grob Tutor T1 (x2)

The Grob G 115 is a light aircraft with aerobatic capability that is popular as a private aircraft and as a military basic trainer. The Tutor has been upgraded since its first flight in 1985 and now sports a different, more reliable, propeller and more advanced avionics. The pilot and student sit side by in a spacious cockpit which affords excellent visibility. The G 115 is used as a basic trainer by six air forces around the world.

The RAF operate the Grob G 115 as the Tutor T1, named after the Avro Tutor trainer used during the 1930s and early 1940s. The Tutor equips the RAF's University Air Squadrons and Air Experience Flights to provide elementary flight training under the banner of No.6 Flying Training School. The Tutor also equips 115 Squadron who provide Instructor Training for 6 FTS and 16 Squadron who assess 6 FTS training standards and evaluation, both are based at RAF Wittering.

The Oxford University Air Squadron will be providing a pair of their Tutors for static display at this year's Air Tattoo.
