SAAB 2000

The 58 seat SAAB 2000 is a turboprop powered regional airliner developed a stretched version of the SAAB 340. The type did not prove popular and lost out to a new generation of affordable regional jet airliners. Production ceased in 1999 after just 63 aircraft being built. The SAAB 2000 has also found its way in to military service where the Pakistan Air Force use them as AWACS fitted with the Erieye radar system.

A single SAAB 2000 will be providing support for SAABs activities at this year's Air Tattoo. The aircraft will not be appearing on static display.
