Evektor EV 97 Eurostar

Evektor EV-97 EuroStar

The Czech-built EV-97 EuroStar is the lighter of a pair of similar aircraft, the other being the SportStar. Both aircraft are visually similar however, the EuroStar is designed to qualify for the European Ultra-Microlight category, whilst the SportStar is designed for the US Light-Sports Aircraft category. An electrically powered version of the SportStar has also been developed called the Evektor. The running costs of the type are very similar to that of a car making it a very cost effective aircraft for flying clubs.

The aim of the RAF Microlight Flying Association is to promote military efficiency of His Majesty’s Armed Forces, raising morale and enhancing the mental resilience of members of the Royal Air Force. It allows anyone who is in the RAF to learn to fly at a lower cost than they may otherwise have to pay.

The RAF Microlight Association will be providing one of their Eurostars for static display at this year’s Air Tattoo.
