IAR-823

The IAR-823 is a trainer aircraft developed by Radu Manicatide as a conventional low-wing trainer with retractable undercarriage. The type saw success with the Romanian Air Force as their primary trainer up until the late 1990s when the surviving aircraft were sold on the civilian market, 35 of these are currently registered in the USA. Some aircraft were also produced with hard points however there were never any plans to use them in a combat role.
