About the role:
- The VIP Events Team, which includes the Aircrew Social Activities group, are responsible for delivering a range of events and social activities during RIAT
- Reporting to the VIP Events Group Manager and relevant Operational Managers, you will assist with the set up and delivery of various events, such as Welcome Supper, Aircrew Meet & Greet, Partners’ Programme, Gala Dinner, VIP Summer BBQ and Awards Ceremony. This role requires a proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Please note, this role involves physical activity and manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting, so consider this before applying
As these event areas are separate from the main showground, having your own transport onsite is recommended.
Main Responsibilities will include:
- Attending any necessary briefings
- Adhering to a specified design layout to ensure precise and compliant setup of event spaces
- Carrying out manual handling tasks (setting up tables, chairs, bar units, cones etc)
- Driving of site vehicles
- Ensuring a safe “takedown” of site infrastructure
- Liaising with other volunteers and contractors regarding any assistance they may require
- Liaising with VIP Events Office Assistant as necessary
- Following all aspects of Fire procedures and Health & Safety requirements
- Being prepared to work at evening events as required
- Any other duties required by the VIP Events Group Manager or Operations Manager
What commitment is required?
- Tuesday (evening) to Sunday post show

Travel:
In line with our sustainability commitment, we strongly encourage volunteers to car share wherever possible, and/or utilise public transport.
The following is in place to support our volunteers with any out-of-pocket expenses.
- Motor Mileage: Claim 45p per mile (maximum 315 miles) return mileage to RIAT and to encourage car sharing, an additional 5p per additional passenger may be claimed by the vehicle driver
- Train Fare: Travel should be standard class; reimbursement will be made up to the maximum claim amount (£100.00) on the production of receipts, tickets, or confirmation email
