About the role:
The primary role of our Event Photographers is to take exceptional photos of the showground (its activity, visitors, crew and volunteers) as directed by the Photography Manager. These will predominantly be marketing and documentary style images. (Please note that our Event Photographers are not required to capture the flying display.)
Main Responsibilities will include:
- Operating as part of a team of volunteer event photographers
- Fulfil photo briefs submitted by the wider event team
- Capture, Process, Captions and Store all photos in relevant folders
- Responding to on-the-spot requests for photos
- Supporting the PR & Engagement Officer with ad hoc PR photo requests
- Familiarising themselves with showground layout and operational areas
- To ensure delivery of (at least 200) high resolution images by Friday 29th July 2026
- All remaining images to be delivered by Tuesday 1st September 2026
What commitment is required?
- Availability from Thursday preceding the airshow to the Monday (16th 20th July 2026)

Travel:
In line with our sustainability commitment, we strongly encourage volunteers to car share wherever possible, and/or utilise public transport.
The following is in place to support our volunteers with any out-of-pocket expenses.
- Motor Mileage: Claim 45p per mile (maximum 315 miles) return mileage to RIAT and to encourage car sharing, an additional 5p per additional passenger may be claimed by the vehicle driver
- Train Fare: Travel should be standard class; reimbursement will be made up to the maximum claim amount (£100.00) on the production of receipts, tickets, or confirmation email
